Our country is going through some tough times, and we are in desperate need of a leader. No one is coming to save us. So, I have decided to step up and run for Congress.
Born and raised in our district, I have returned home after working on Capitol Hill, to run for congress. I was compelled to run for office after witnessing the dismal state of our current representation. Our leaders prioritize their own interests, and those of their wealthy donors, over the needs of the people.
About Me
I graduated from Ray Braswell High School in 2018 and continued my education at the University of Arkansas. After a year, I returned home to the University of North Texas, where I spent the next three years balancing my studies with a full-time job as a shift lead at a pizza shop in Denton. During this time, I grappled with uncertainty about my future. Although I initially chose to major in Accounting because I excelled in those classes, an internship and subsequent full-time job in the field made it clear that it wasn't the right path for me. I realized that I had opted for accounting out of a desire for security, but it left me unfulfilled. My true passion lies in helping others and making a difference in their lives. This realization led me to pursue a career in politics. I initially engaged with the Republican Party, a choice influenced by my upbringing in Texas, where many people around me aligned with those values. I recognized that the party was facing challenges, and I believed I could help bring about positive change and a fresh perspective. Over the summer, I had the opportunity to door knock in Iowa, followed by an internship on Capitol Hill in the fall. These experiences were eye-opening and transformative for me. Ultimately, what I witnessed and learned pushed me to return home and run for Congress as a Democrat. I am committed to serving the people, championing American values, healing a divided nation and moving forward as one to a better future.
My name is Simon Cardell and I am running for the U.S. House in the fourth congressional district of Texas. I was born and raised in Plano, Texas with 2 older brothers and a twin brother. I lost my mother to lung cancer when I was four years old. This made my upbringing challenging. However, through these challenges it developed me into a person of strong character.
